The Inside back id# On all Model produced before 2007 the Serial # is located between the lugs (where the band connects to the case)

There are two movement #'s, caliber & another is serial # the unique to the movement (never the same as the serial # of the case) and the caliber
Rolex usually makes changes to each model about every 10 years approx
